5 Drugstore Makeup Products I'm Loving

I love going to Sephora and department stores and looking at all the amazing products and beautiful displays but let's not kid ourselves, some makeup products there are really expensive. In the last ten years drugstore makeup brands have really upped their game. And who doesn't love makeup at a bargain price right?

Today, I am telling you about five makeup products I have found at the drugstore that I have been loving. These are products that in the past I have bought at either Sephora or Bloomingdale's but I've found really good dupes at the drugstore. Let's get started.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I wore MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the infamous shade of Custard for years. Somewhere along the line MAC discontinued that concealer and I am totally convinced that NARS changed the formula on theirs because it is not as creamy as it once was. The Maybelline concealer kept popping up in YouTube reviews and all the influencers were raving about it so I decided to try it out. And it is so good! It is a little lighter in coverage than what I am used to but that's okay! Nowadays I am wearing my makeup a little lighter anyway. I use the shade Light 15.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Pressed Powder

In my early 20's my skin was dry combination. Super dry around my mouth area and normal on my t-zone. Mid 20's hit and all of a sudden my skin was oily combination, normal around my mouth and oily in my t-zone...what??? Usually as you get older, it goes the other way around...your skin gets drier. But am I complaining?! Absolutely not! It is said that oily skin ages slower. I'll let you know in twenty years. Because my skin type changed, I had to change my powder from a comfortable, non-drying formula (I used the Smashbox Halo Fresh Setting & Perfecting Powder, amazing for my skin then and such a beautiful, flawless finish) to a powder that would give me oil control (I used Makeup Forever DUO MAT

MATTE POWDER FOUNDATION, awesome oil control with full coverage...at that time my makeup was glam heavy, lol).

For some reason though, it just pained me to pay so much for a powder! A search ensued and I found the Maybelline powder. I love it because it gives me just enough coverage and helps control the oil on my t-zone throughout the day. I use the shade 235 Pure Beige.

NYX Epic Ink Liner

I am not a dramatic cat-eye, winged liner kinda girl. I used to do the tiniest flick back in the day but now I just draw a thin line across the top of my lid to give my lash line some definition. I also wear a lot of monochromatic makeup looks and I find that the black line helps to anchor the look so that it is more polished than fresh faced.

My go-to liquid liner was the Clinique liquid liner. It was matte and dried very fast. It did get a little messy but I didn't really mind. I stopped using it when they changed the packaging and maybe the formula. It used to be that you had to dip the felt tip brush into the product but now most brands are making their liquid liners more like water color markers, where you have to shake the whole pen so that the product can be dispensed into the brush. Not my fave...even though the NYX Epic Liquid Liner is also in this kind of presentation. But since I am not paying high-end money for it, I don't mind as much. One thing to know though, don't shake it too much because it can become messy. I find that most days I don't have to shake it at all and it gives me just the right amount of product I need to do both eyes. Also, don't press too hard onto your lid because again you'll end up with too much product and I found that it'll bleed on your lid the same way a bad red lipstick can bleed on your lips. Wait...so do I even like this liner? I do! It gets the job done, it's long lasting and barely costs a thing. What else do you need from a black liquid liner, am I right?

NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel

I have tried a whole bunch of different eyebrow gels. Some where really bad but the good ones, I couldn't tell you the difference. Whether it was Anastasia Beverly Hills, MAC or Clinique, they all worked just the same. So I thought why not save some money and try a drugstore brand. I came across the NYX one and never looked back. It keeps my brows in place without making them look stiff or crunchy. At only a few bucks, that's a win-win.

CoverGirl Lash Blast Amplify Primer

Okay, I'll be honest, my all-time, favorite lash primer is the Chanel Le Base Mascara Volume and Care Lash Primer but that doesn't mean I can't also love a good drugstore primer! In an effort to save a few bucks (because paying for the Chanel primer pained me as much as buying the Makeup Forever powder) I bought the CoverGirl primer on a whim. It was literally the only primer I found at the drugstore that day! I needed one so I got it. Thank goodness it worked out! There's nothing I dislike more than thin, spidery lashes. I need the volume, dang it! This primer gives volume and length without looking clumpy. I use it with the Chanel Le Volume Mascara and until I can wrap my mind around forking over some dough for the Chanel primer, CoverGirl is my best friend ;).

What are some of your fave drugstore products?
